Yoga FAQ
When can I start doing yoga?
You can start at any time. My classes accommodate various skill levels, ages, and body types. I especially enjoy introducing yoga to beginners!
Will a pre-existing injury keep me from practicing yoga?
If you have a pre-existing condition or injury, please let me know. I can offer adjustments and modifications to help you participate safely. You know your body, its abilities, and limitations best, so trust yourself. I will always encourage you to listen to your body and offer suggestions when needed. Remember that yoga is not just a physical practice. It’s a journey toward peace of mind and stillness.
Will yoga help me to manage stress and tension?
Yes. As a yoga therapist with specialized training in mindfulness and meditation, I will introduce you to simple techniques you can use immediately to enhance your sense of peace and well-being.
What if I am not fit or flexible?
That's perfectly fine! I teach yoga for all bodies. You don't need to be fit or flexible; simply come with an open mind. Leave the rest to me. I will show you how to adapt postures to your body. Some students even attend solely for the breathing and relaxation.
How often should I practice yoga?
Consistency is important to achieve your desired results and to maintain mind body health. I suggest at least once a week with me or at one of your local yoga studios. I also encourage you to incorporate yoga into your daily life. Mindful breathing is one way. I’ll teach you some other ways too.
Can I do yoga during pregnancy?
Yes! Please inform me if you are pregnant. If it's a secret, rest assured, it's safe with me! I offer suggestions and modifications to accommodate your changing body. Please first consult with your doctor for guidance on safe limitations and schedule a consultation with me beforehand. Besides being a mother myself, I have years of experience working with pregnant women.
What are your hours?
I am available by appointment. Most of my clients have reserved their time with me on an ongoing regular basis. I recommend this as my schedule fills up quickly. Connecting with you is important to me, so please don't hesitate to reach out!
Where do you teach your yoga classes?
I currently offer private lessons and facilitate small group classes by appointment. I travel to your home or an agreed upon location. I am also available for special events.
Do you offer yoga classes online?
Yes, I offer private yoga lessons, guided meditations and touchless yoga therapy virtually. You will need to be in a place where you are alone and undisturbed with no distractions.
What yoga supplies do I need to get started?
For your convenience, I will provide yoga mats and props if you don't already have them. Here are my recommendations for yoga supplies to get you started as a beginner. As you become more familiar with your body and practice, you might find you want to add more props, such as pillows, bolsters, extra blankets, and an eye mask.
1/4-inch thick yoga mat (approximately 74 inches long and 24 inches wide).
Two 4-inch yoga blocks (each approximately 4 inches x 6 inches x 9 inches).
At least one blanket (Mexican blankets work well).
8-foot D-ring strap.
